Hermaphrodite

A Hermaphrodite is half-female, half-male, that is they have both male and female sex organs.

This Hermaphrodite Vodka Luge was carved for Whitchurch Rugby Club's first Dinner Dance Ball of the season.

Placed at the entrance way to their marquee, guests filing in to the beautifully decorated venue could not have missed this 1m tall, 13-stone Hermaphrodite Vodka Luge. 

With TWO channels drilled into the ice (one above and one below), everyone had a choice of where to savour the flowing Aqua Vita.

As the night unfolded, the Vodka Luge slowly melting added an extra element to the visual sight. It glistened and shimmered as if a clear massage oil had been smothered all over the Hermaphrodite's body.

The bright, white LED lighting behind the Vodka Luge added an additional dimension.  As the initial frosting disappeared, the clarity of the ice stood out highlighted by the lighting. Refraction is a great tool.

Hermaphrodite sex organs

This was a hand-carved Vodka Luge to the client's specifications (within reason - an ice block is only 1m tall, 1/2m wide by 1/4m in depth).  It was a sight to be seen and most importantly enjoyed!  When setting it up, the reaction from those around was incredible with a real sense of excitement and, 'oh wow, I can't believe this - I can't wait to try it'! 

Whitchurch Rugby Club was certainly forward thinking and have some real daring Committee members that know how to get a party going!  We carved a pair of female boobs with a male penis.

We tried to use the maximum depth of the ice block to create (as requested) the largest and most ample set of boobs we could carve. With regards to the penis, once again not only for decency sake, but for easy of use it had to be pointing down - and not straight out or up.

Our apologies to some ladies wanting the penis slightly modified and pointing in a different direction.

A Hermaphrodite for all seasons

A Hermaphrodite is not just for Rugby Club annual balls or Birthday parties. It is designed for adults that have a sense of fun and excitement about them. For those parties that have a high proportion of introverts or shy guests, this may not be the right Vodka Luge for those particular guests. 

However, one thing is certain, when confronted with a Hermaphrodite Luge,  for most hot blooded males and females, they really want to 'have a go'.

One is nearly always surprised as to which exit point the women will head for first.  With most (but not all) men, it will be the Boobs.  For LGBT parties and events, it is usually the reverse.  A Hermaphrodite Vodka Luge is different.  It takes a host that knows his (or her) guests well to pull this one off. It is daring and it is bold.
 

Light-up the party

Placement and lighting will make all the difference in the world.  Being such a bold sculpture, it needs to be placed in a position it will be seen by all in the room. Photographs, selfies and snaps of all kind will be taken in large numbers.  This is a Luge made for  Instragram and Facebook.

One tip with this Luge; Avoid plain flavoured Vodka.  Instead head for flavoured drinks that have a tinge of sweetness such as some Caribbean Rums, Flavoured Vodkas such as Vanilla Vodka, Strawberry Vodka, Honey flavoured Vodkas, Chocolate Vodka and so forth.

Some guests may not be plain Vodka drinkers.  With the idea of getting everyone involved, selecting a 'nice, sweet and enjoyable flavour' will more than likely get guests coming back for more.

Although for example a Honey Flavoured Vodka may range from 30 to 42% aclocohol content, the sweetness and smoothness hides that fact beautifully.  You may need more than one or two bottles of this nectar.

As you can imagine, a sweet, soft flavour is preferable to a strong, mouth-flaming Vodka or whisky especially with such a Vodka Luge as an Hermaphrodite. 

This was one Ball that will certainly be remembered for a very long time - for all the right reasons!
